Welcome back Summer!

To say we missed you is a GIANT understatement! What a heavenly day. Low 70's, slight breeze and endless trees, grass and flowers. I can't tell you how good it felt to put shorts on the kids and let them run in their bare feet.
Today I took the kids to the Gardens at Thanksgiving Point. It felt SO good to go back.

Yesterday I made this "shirt" for Ava. But i've got to be honest. It didn't start out being for Ava, and it didn't start out being a shirt. It was supposed to be a dress for Estelle. It ended up being way to big in the armholes (because i made a large, assuming that was her size). But Ava was SO excited to try it on and it fits her perfectly. I'm excited because now I have a pattern to make her a bunch of these adorable summer "shirts"!

Estelle really enjoyed her freedom there, to walk with no boundaries. She wandered and wandered aimlessly and occasionally would stop in her tracks and sit down for a rest, but never for long before she was up wandering some more.

This is the door out of the "Secret Garden", Adam couldn't open it and I heard him yelling from across the Garden, "Mom bring me your key!"
Roll.... roll.... roll. (Ava couldn't do it very easily, because of the big purple monster on her arm, so she'd get up and run instead.)

We'll be going back again soon. For Christmas from Richard and Judy, I got us a season pass. I LOVE having a season pass to Thanksgiving Point. In my mind, its God's country. And I'm hoping Summers here to stay. :)
