I LOVE our Bright and Funky tree!

For YEARS now, i've been wanting to do our tree in all BRIGHT, and non-traditional colors. This year I finally did it. We usually put our tree in the family room where everything is red and green. But this year we have a new love seat in the formal living room and it's my favorite room (and we have a 8 month old babe that's extra mobile) so it only made since to put the tree in there..... away. This allowed me to go crazy with my color's, and did I ever. I love it, i love it!!!
Bare with me here... I took a million pictures, but i won't post them ALL. :~)
I wanted a flocked tree (like we always had growing up, mark my words they'll be making a come-back a few years down the road), but when you're poor, you're forced to be creative with what you've got. So i found this old bag of poly-fill stuffing in the basement and thought i'd just try putting it all over to give it the "snowy effect", and I love how it turned out.... almost as much as if it were flocked, because with this you have the green and white contrast. This was a tree make-over on a budget so I bought all the ornaments for around $75. And there is A LOT of ornaments, the way I like it. The kids were having a blast helping me decorate (while Aaron battled with Estelle). About half way through, Abbie asked Ava if she wanted to hang another snow flake, Ava was sitting on the couch and said, "I'm....taking....a....break."

This was last night after we finished the big job. Adam was making me laugh so hard while we were decorating. He was SO excited that it was finally Christmas and was convinced that because we had our tree up, Santa would be coming THAT night..... it took a lot of explaining on my part and I still don't think he understands. It's so much fun having the kids this age around the holiday's.
My favorite room just got even better!
Now today is the REAL Thanksgiving, we had our's yesterday since Aaron left for work before sunrise this morning. The kids and I have been watching the parade on T.V.... now we'll do some cleaning and the rest of the decorating... *sigh*.... so much work. BUT I love it when it's all done.
Happy Christmas time everyone!!
